Shallow System

Primarily used for coastal work, the shallow system is designed to dive up to 1000 meters. Its small footprint, "light" weight, and neutral tether make it an ideal configuration on small vessels and/or for shallow operations.

The system can be installed on:

  • Vessels with enough laboratory space to accommodate our consoles, transformers, etc., as well as enough deck space for deck supplies, vehicle, and winch. The CCGS Vector, is often used in this configuration.
  • If no laboratory space is available ,the vessel should have enough deck space to accommodate two standard shipping containers (operations and workshop) as well as the deck supplies, vehicle, and winch.
  • Shallow system umbilical winch can mount directly to the 60” standard round winch base found on many CCGS fleet vessels.

Please note that all potential vessels must be equipped with a crane capable of launching and recovering the vehicle (4,664lbs). An A-frame or secondary crane to mount the over-boarding sheave is preferable but not required. Always contact us to ensure that a ship is suitable to host this system configuration as there are too many variables to list here.

Winch Details:
Weight: 17,832 Lbs (8105 Kgs)

The winch is designed to take as little deck space as possible and mount using a CCG 60' BCD standard round which base, sacrificial burn plate, or custom adaptor plate options. The winch can be powered from the ROPOS's HPU or the ship's hydraulics.
